In the spring of 2020, many disc golf courses around the world temporarily closed. Virtually all major sporting events and leagues were canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic. But then, something extraordinary happened.
Disc golf, played outdoors and with ample room to social distance was quickly determined to be a safe activity, and came back stronger and more popular than ever. More new players had discovered the game in the two year span that followed than in the entire history of the sport combined. The reigning 5x World champion Paul McBeth signed a $10 MILLION dollar sponsorship deal - as online viewership, disc sales, and sponsorship opportunities exploded. The sport was experiencing a boon.
